New Music: Primorph / Light Our Darkest Hour EP

The Wales based synthwave act Primorph have just recently released the Light Our Darkest Hour EP. My first impression was that it could’ve been the soundtrack to one of the best video games never made. It has a real late 80’s, Super Nintendo, futuristic vibe to it…all of which are good things. I also don’t want to sound like I’m selling it short…there’s a lot of complex layers going on here. There are harmonies that intertwine with other harmonies, creating new layers of music. This isn’t your normal straightforward synthwave release.

Primorph have hit the right notes on this debut EP. Not only is it a compelling listen it also builds on itself, like a story unfolding. This lends to repeat listens and keeps you coming back to discovery new things you might have missed. This is an artist I will be keeping up with so be sure to keep your eyes peeled on the page.
