Synthwave Sunday: Primorph

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, the name Primorph should be familiar to you by now. He has quickly become a name in the synthwave world and with his new EP, Emergence, due out on April 10th, the excitement is reaching a fever pitch. It goes without saying that it’s one of the biggest first half releases of the year and another big win for Time Slave Recordings, who are releasing the EP on their label.

Having had an opportunity to give Emergence a run through already, I can tell you that not only has Primorph grown by leaps and bounds since Light Our Darkest Hour, he’s gone off the charts. I expected it to be good, but Primorph really pushed himself further than I thought possible. With mastering done by the amazing Jon Thomson of Ethereal Delusions and Delusional Mastering, Emergence is set to become a stone cold synthwave classic.

If you haven’t pre-ordered your copy yet, head over to Bandcamp and do so now. There are still limited edition cassettes available and those WILL sell out. This is an artist that has already been featured on the big FutureSounds Vol 1 compilation, and Primorph is showing us all he can stand toe to toe with the big boys of synthwave. In other words, don’t wait. This is a chance to own a limited edition piece of physical media from one of the hottest rising stars in the genre.

But wait! I’m not done. We will be hosting an exclusive interview with Primorph that will be posted on Tuesday. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for what is sure to be one of our most poplular interviews!

  1. Nice work. Loved Metroplexual. This stuff seems to take it on to another level though. Nice little label too… I got a copy of Karlovsky’s Revenge by Ethereal Delusions last week and they’re seriously pretty tapes.
