Skeleton Beach has done it again, this time in a bite sized EP. When we last covered them is was for the full length album, Being There. Last Night Alive appears to be a stop gap between Being There and a yet to be named new album, telling its own stand alone story. Regardless, we’ve got new music here and that’s always a good thing!
For me this is a perfect slice of horror music…like the soundtrack to one of the vignettes in an anthology like V/H/S. It flows very much as if it were a retro toned film where everyone on the cast isn’t going to make it to the end, you just know something bad is lurking around the corner. Imagine John Carpenter filtered through Skeleton Beach and you’ve got an idea of what’s in store for you here.
If you haven’t picked it up already, I’ve got good news. It’s available for the amazingly low “name your price” starting point over at Bandcamp, so you really have no excuse not to grab this awesome counterbalance to sunshine and chrome.
