Its a big few weeks of releases, and here’s one you should definitely slip into your walkman and get ready to be transported back to the dancefloors of a 1980’s nightclub heaven.
LA Synthpop duo A Million Machines have put out a teaser single “Come Tonight”. Its associated filmclip is a futuristic blend of modern blue strobes striking metal-clad warriors in the image of centurions, this could be representative of the futuristic sounds blended with old-world analog synthesizers. The sequences are unmistakable, as are the arpeggiators and throbbing basslines that are so apparent in the synthpop landscape
Band members MIG and Fate Fatal blend vintage synthesizers with modular futuristic sounds that are big on melody. On “Come Tonight”, hooky waves of flowing synths blend over Fatal’s vocals, which are as shiny and smooth as the mood from the film clip. There are shades of Bowie, and David Gahan of Depeche Mode. The overall sound is very polished, with the whole track blending together into the perfect soundscape to the synthetic future.
The self-titled album will be released on November 24, but is already available for pre-order via the band’s own Bandcamp
